— Why Pendula

A different way of doing this work.

The way Pendula operates is shaped by a few clear preferences — fewer pieces, more attention, and a commitment to telling you what's actually going on.

— At a Glance

What you get when you work with Pendula.

Personal handling

The person you speak with takes the work on. One point of contact throughout.

Reversible by default

Especially on vintage pieces, nothing is done that can't be undone without discussion first.

Clear communication

Scope and cost are agreed before work begins. Updates come when there's something to say.

Planned upkeep

Collection care runs on a schedule you set — no chasing, no guessing when things were last seen to.

Condition documentation

Records made at intake and updated through the work. You know what was observed as well as what was done.

Transparent pricing

Service prices are listed clearly. For restoration, final scope is confirmed after assessment — no surprises at collection.

01 · Expertise

Practical experience, not credentials on a wall.

The team at Pendula carries experience across mechanical movements, vintage timepieces, and contemporary straps and bracelets — accumulated through actual work rather than marketing language. The lead watchmaker has been handling pieces since 2011. The restoration specialist brings a background in traditional metalwork that shapes how surface and dial care is approached.

That experience means knowing when not to proceed — an important part of vintage and restoration work that doesn't always get enough attention in higher-volume settings.

14+ years of hands-on mechanical and vintage work across the team

Background in traditional metalwork informing case and surface treatment

Experience with major and independent manufacturers from the mid-20th century onward

Comfort with both mechanical and quartz movements across a range of conditions

Pre-work inspection before any quote or commitment

Written condition record at intake and collection

Scope changes discussed before proceeding, not after

Post-work review before return, including observations outside the original scope

02 · Process

A clear process from first contact to collection.

Every piece that comes into the workshop goes through the same sequence: assessment first, quote second, work third, review before return. Nothing is started without the scope being agreed. Nothing is returned without a final check.

This isn't unusual in principle, but it's done consistently here. The collection care plan adds a scheduling layer to this — known dates, known scope, no need to remember when a piece was last seen to.

03 · Client Experience

The experience of bringing a piece in.

The workshop is small by design. Walk-ins are welcome for strap fitting during opening hours. For other services, a brief exchange beforehand — by phone or message — means the visit goes more smoothly and the right person is available.

You won't be handed a ticket and told to come back in six weeks. If the timeline is longer than that, you'll know why and when to expect an update.

— Unique to Pendula

What you won't find elsewhere in the area.

The Collection Care Plan

A structured annual service for owners of multiple watches. Rotating attention, winding checks, and light servicing on a known schedule. This kind of planned upkeep isn't widely offered as a standalone service in this region.

Unhurried vintage work

Vintage restoration at Pendula runs at the pace the piece requires. There's no pressure to compress the timeline. Four to eight weeks is typical, and that's treated as normal rather than apologised for.

Preservation over appearance

On older pieces, preserving what's there is treated as the default. Original patina, original dial condition, original case character — these are kept where possible rather than polished away in pursuit of a showroom look.

English service, no intermediary

The full conversation — from initial enquiry through scope discussion to condition notes and return — happens in English. For international residents and visitors in the Bang Lamung area, this is not always a given at local workshops.
